What is 3D secure (MasterCard SecureCode®)?

3D Secure (3DS) is a free service to give you more protection when you're shopping online.
The service authenticates that you — the cardholder — is making the transaction at the time of purchase. Any merchant participating will have the MasterCard SecureCode® logo displayed on the retailer’s website.
